- Dates: Check-in Monday March 28th Check-out Thursday March 31st (personal travel plans could included days before or days after)
- Lodging: Lodging arrangements are needed now. Each person is responsible for their own lodging. There are many options for hotels, or you could camp out at the Enchanted Rock. We will use the Hampton Inn & Suites as the gathering place. (515 East Main Street, 830-997-9696)

- Transportation: Drive time is appx 4 hours. Once we get the list of members interested in going, we can see who is willing to share a ride and a room.
- Multipurpose Trip:
- Night – Star Photography at Enchanted Rock (Lead Kathy Muhle)
- Daytime – Group or individual photo opportunities (Lead – need leader)
- Weather – depending on the weather this workshop could be canceled. Hotel reservations have a 24-hour free cancellation so a go – no go will be determined by March 26th.
Night Activity
- Arrive at Enchanted Rock by 6pm – 7pm (need to arrive with day pass beforegate closes at 8PM)
- Setup cameras for night photography
- Galaxy Center visibility starts around – 1:55am ends by 5:50am
- Bring:
- Camera, fast lens, tripod
- Chairs and tables
- Warm clothes
- Lights, food, beverages
- Extra camera batteries
- Short walking distance from parking lot to proposed shooting location
- The Milky Way comes up early in the AM so these will be long nights. Expect to arrive no later than 7pm and stay to around 3am. The road is a straight shot to Fredericksburg, but caution is needed driving due to deer on the road.
Day Activities Available:
- Bluebonnets – Willow City Loop
- Visit Fredericksburg; shops, museums, dining, city activities
- Visit Lyndon B Johnson National Historical Park and LBJ Ranch.
• Visitors can tour the Ranch in private vehicles with stops at sites along the way. Need driving permit from Historic Site Visitor Center in Stonewall, Texas. Gates open from 9am to 5:30pm. (20 min drive)
- Drive the Peach Loop, one of TPWD’s Great Texas Wildlife Trails
