Late October is a perfect time to stroll through a park in Houston.  The plants have a reprieve from the heat and begin to thrive again for a short time before the first frost.

Kingwood PhotoClub will take advantage of this time  year with a trip to the Japanese Gardens in Herrman Park.  We will meet at the First Baptist Church of Kingwood at 9 a.m. to carpool and then spend some time in this little gem of a garden, and if we have extra time we can explore any other feature in the 500 acre Herrman Park.  The 5.5 acre garden is next to the reflecting pool and near McGovern Centennial Gardens.

The Japanese Garden was designed by renowned Japanese architect Ken Nakajima and contains elements designed to soothe the harried spirit, including water features, a tea house, bridges and calming greenery.

After our garden walks, we will have lunch at nearby Rice Village.
