Rafael Pons with PhotoPills
Our speaker at the February meeting was Rafael Pons. Rafael wanted me to pass along how great it was to get to meet with our club virtually. He had a great time teaching PhotoPills to the club and was happy that we seemed so interested. He wanted to say that he knows the app is a bit overwhelming, but with a bit of practice, it gets much better.
He says, “For those interested in the Camp, they have 1 opening right now. (maybe there’ll be more, there are always cancellations. The Camp is super fun…quite a unique experience.” For those that might be interested in joining in 2024 here is the link to their website: https://www.photopills.com/Camp

One, Two, Three: Let’s Talk Infrared, April Meeting, Silvana Della Camera
For those on the club’s Facebook page, you may have noticed recent postings by a couple of members, Chris (Eddie Ray) and Chuck, of their infrared photography. I thought I would take this opportunity to point out that our speaker for the April meeting is Silvana Della Camera. The title of the program is “The Infrared Zone”.
Like our other speakers, Silvana has volunteered her time to share her talents and love of photography. She enjoys several different types of photography but says Astrolandscape and infrared photography are her specialty. Whether you are just getting into photography or want to bring your work to another level, Silvana wants to help you tap into your vision of the world.
While checking in with Silvana this week regarding the April meeting and with members posting infrared photos, she suggested this might be a great time to introduce her website, https://silvanadellacamera.com and newsletter.
Silvana, just like most photographers who have spoken at our meetings, hopes by speaking to photography clubs and other group organizations, they can introduce themselves, their work, tours/workshops, books, etc. Please take a few minutes and browse her website.
She would absolutely love and appreciate each of you signing up for her newsletter and looks forward to having you join in. The signup only requires your email address. In case you wanted to know, she does not collect any other information, nor
does she sell her list. You will find SUBSCRIBE on the right hand side of the Home Page as well as on several other pages on her website. She does not send it out often and you can unsubscribe at any time. I’m signed up and I can confirm she doesn’t send out often and will not flood your email account. The newsletter contains photography tips, articles, workshops, and more!
And for those thinking about Infrared or new to it, I spotted a new book available on her website, “Sights Beyond the Spectrum”, published December 2023, available in hardcopy or ebook.
